The top winner of the BALI National Landscape Awards 2014 has seen visits to its website nearly double and pages viewed more than quadruple as a result.

Between 5 and 9 December 2014, Willerby Landscapes - which scooped the Grand Award for a record fifth time plus two others at the event at the Grosvenor House on Park Lane in London on 5 December 2014 - saw a 93 per cent increase in users, a 107 per cent increase in sessions, a 65 per cent increase in pages viewed per session and a 240 per cent increase in pages viewed overall against the same period in 2013.

In all, visitors stayed looking at the website for an extra two minutes on average. Over the following fortnight, where media outlets were covering the story and it was shared on social media, Willerby's website saw a 29 per cent increase in users, a 31 per cent increase in sessions and a 58 per cent increase in pages viewed against the same period in 2013.

In total, the pages viewed per session increased by 22 per cent and people stayed on the site for an extra minute.

Willerby Landscapes communications and systems manager David Witham said: "On social media and in particular Facebook we saw significant activity, with our Facebook page of the awards being shared by more than 1,300 people."

He added: "The awards and following PR announcements certainly had a positive impact on our profile in the marketplace. Here's looking forward to 2015."

Landscape architect Davies White has also seen a good rate of interest as a result of the awards. Director Adam White said: "We've won five BALI Awards over the past seven years and find they are the best form of advertising we do."

This year's BALI Awards are now open for entries. The ceremony will return to Grosvenor House at lunchtime on 4 December. Green-tech is the headline sponsor.
