The HTA is to run a catering conference in July featuring leading chef Skye Gyngell, aimed at giving delegates a vision for their business.
An HTA representative said the aim is to inspire those attending and give them tools to develop new strategies and run more profitable catering operations. Bookings are being taken for the conference, to be held at Hawkwell House Hotel, near Oxford, on 10 July.
Petersham Nurseries café head chef Gyngell and founding ambassador for the UK Slow Food movement Wendy Fogarty will deliver a joint presentation on sustainability and local sourcing. Restaurant and café owner Mike Lucy will discuss the UK’s eating-out market and trends for garden centre cafés. Food writer Henrietta Green will look at UK food and organic food. The event will also feature restaurateur Oliver Peyton.
Former British Hospitality Association deputy chief executive Martin Couchman will discuss legal issues relating to a catering.
