Home & Garden Uttoxeter to close

A garden centre in Staffordshire is closing.

Doveleys Garden Centre in Denstone will close by the end of 2016. It opened in 2000 and in 2013, site owner MJ Barrett leased the premises to Home and Garden, which has 10 garden centres.

The owners blamed the location and discount supermarkets for the centre's lack of profitability. The centre has 17 staff.

There will be a £985,000 closing down sale starting on 21 October.
