Holland Landscapes bags two awards including the top accolade at the 2011 Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) awards.

The Essex-based landscapers was named supreme winner of the APL Awards as well as scooping the prize for the best project valued at £15,000 to £30,000.

The Yew Tree Cottage project, created by designer Karen Chamberlain, transformed the existing lawn of a 14th century cottage into a garden incorporating a gravel garden, terraces, an informal lawn and surrounding plant.

Announcing the award APL chair Mark Gregory said the project was "well thought out, had a good story, clean lines and good craftsmanship".

Prizes were awarded for excellence in landscaping in 10 categories judged by APL chair Mark Gregory, TVG Landscaping's Stuart Marler, designer James Alexander Sinclair, Garden magazine editor Chris Young and Mark Wood from Bradstones which sponsored the event.
