Hoblyn shortlisted for awards and off to US

Garden designer Tom Hoblyn has been shortlisted in four categories in the Society of Garden Designers annual awards. Brook Hall Farm has been included on the shortlist in the Planting, Hardscape and Large Residential Garden categories.

Hoblyn is also a finalist in the new Paper Landscapes category, an award which celebrates design concepts that are yet to be built, for Hermitage Farm.

Meanwhile, as part of a trip to Boston for the American Society of Landscape Architects Expo, Hoblyn will be chairing a debate on Designing Native Landscapes with Eric Groft from Oehme van Sweden - the landscape architects widely credited as the creators of the New American Garden style of landscape design. The panel will discuss proven approaches for successfully establishing meadows and grasslands from seeds and live plants both here and in the US.

And Hoblyn's Cornish-themed show garden for RHS Chelsea 2011, which has now been installed at the Eden Project, is the subject of a talk at the Cornish visitor attraction by the designer this September 12.
