Hillier relaunches range following customer feedback

Hillier Nurseries has relaunched its plant range in response to the changing needs of customers.

Consultant Jane Lawler set up an insight group of garden centre plantarea buyers in early 2015 and after their comments Hillier is promoting its plants differently.

Among the changes, Hillier is reducing its range and increasing volumes. There is a new point of sale for the colour coded perennial range 'Perennial Colour For Your Garden', and  a new plant list catalogue with bigger plant pictures. Ranges include bigger perennials with new labels designed to help sell them in the green.

Sales manager Richard Lawton said: "There's not a lot of profit in this industry. The only way is to sell more plants. We need to make more money out of the plant selling business."
