Health benefits of brassicas

Further evidence of the health-giving properties of brassicas has recently come from the Institute of Food Research. The institute found that diets rich in so-called glucosinolates can restore cellular processes that get disrupted with age, thereby reducing the risk of certain cancers. The Beneforte variety of broccoli, recently bred in the UK, has unusually high levels of a glucosinolate called glucoraphanin.
