The local Countess of Mountbatten Hospice hopes to break the record of 750 bridal dress wearers on 10 May. Last year’s attempt fell short with just 160 being counted.
Haskins general manager Peter Callaway and his assistant manager Ben Harrison say that they urge members of the public as well as those working within horticulture and garden centres across the south, to join the fun event.
Callaway said: "Anyone, of any age, male or female, can count towards the record providing they are in a wedding dress complete with veil or head dress. Last year we were delighted to be joined by 'brides' wearing traditional dresses from many cultures."
