HTA horticulture head Raoul Curtis-Machin said: "I haven't picked up anything specific from member nurseries yet, although there is ongoing concern about a weak euro versus strong pound. So if the euro drops further as a result of the Greek crisis then it could lead to more plant imports."
Hayloft Plants' Derek Jarman said: "In a nutshell, yes, the falling euro will lead to more imports."
The exchange rate on 31 July 2013 was EUR1.14. The pound rose to its highest rate against the euro since November 2007 last week, climbing to EUR1.435.
