Grounds maintenance contract secured by Sodexo

Sodexo has signed a five-year grounds maintenance deal with a housing association covering 5,000 homes in the North West.

The contract with Chester-based Muir Group Housing Association will see Sodexo provide work across Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cheshire. It began on 1 April and will create eight jobs within the first 12 months of operation.

Four specially trained teams of two will be based at depots across the region and will carry out all aspects of maintenance.

Other aspects of the contract include a programme of training for staff and the development of an IT system to monitor contract performance and resident feedback.

Sodexo regional director for the north Paul Donnelly said: "By using local, multi-skilled teams, we are aiming to increase resident satisfaction and participation within the communities. Open lines of communication between everyone are key to ensuring a long-term partnership that will benefit all involved."

Following the initial contract period, there will be an option to extend the deal for a further five years.
