The number of parks and green spaces which were given a Green Flag Award was up again this year, at 1,701. Now Green Flag wants to know which of these park users love the best and it has changed the People’s Choice Award so that the top 10 will be recognised.
The winners can be anything from community gardens to large municipal parks but must hold a Green Flag this year. They are listed here which is also where people can cast their vote.
Green Flag Award manager Paul Todd said: "We all have a favourite park, whether it’s our local green space or a special park we’ll travel miles to visit.
"We are urging everyone to vote for their own favourite park. It will be great to celebrate 10 of the public’s favourite parks and for them to become the People’s Choice 2016."
Last year saw more than 30,000 votes from the public, with Victoria Park in London’s Tower Hamlets crowned as the People’s Choice.
