Grass seed guide aims to help landscapers, designers and specifiers

Limagrain UK has published a specifiers' handbook to help landscape architects choose the right grass seed mixtures for their projects.

The 36-page publication is targeted at designers of residential lawns, garden landscapes and sports pitches and includes information on the characteristics of nine key grass species. It suggests different mixtures including wildflower blends and seed for conservation areas.

It also explains the differences in quality ratings for seed mixtures and provides information on the seed treatment Headstart which helps increase the rate of germination and establishment.

Limagrain amenity seed specialist Craig Spooner said: "The Specifiers’ Handbook will help anyone involved in selecting seed mixtures for sports areas and general landscaping. It highlights the best type of landscaping mixtures for shaded areas or low fertility sites.

"It details the options for different types of sports playing surfaces. Landscape architects can be confident that the specifications they make for new sports pitches and lawns will be fit for purpose."
