Grants available for spoga + gafa German garden trade show

The Gardenex export federation has secured UKTI grant funding for eligible British firms exhibiting in the federation's group at spoga+gafa in Cologne on 4-6 September.

The UKTI government cash grants available for 2016 will help support the cost of stand space and fitting.

Over the three days, around 2,000 exhibitors from around 60 countries will present their new products and innovations for the coming outdoor season to the trade audience.

Foreign exhibitors make up 75 per cent share of the show, which is aimed at garden centre buyers.

There are nine halls of garden exhibitors split into garden living, garden creation & care, garden bbq and garden unique.

Some 34 UK exhibitors took part in 2015.

Dekovries, Kettler, Sieger and Stern are among German companies presenting new products.

The German garden trade association, IVG, reports that gardening sales in the country last year were €18.3 billion, an increase of 1.5 per cent year-on-year.
