Graham Spencer and Neil Grant join plant retailing event speakers

Neil Grant of Ferndale Garden Centre and Graham Spencer from Plants for Europe are the latest speakers to join the line-up for Plant Retailing, Fit for the Future, sponsored by XL Horticulture, which takes place during the Ball Colegrave 2015 Summer Showcase.

Spencer will present on plants that breeders, growers and retailers might need to be offering to be 'fit for the future' whilst Neil will talk about some of the challenges faced in selling plants in a retail environment.

Other speakers include David Denny from the HTA and Boyd Douglas-Davies of Hillview Garden Centres who will explore how customers shop in the plant area using the latest Eyetracker research.

Andy Bunker of Alton Garden Centre will present a case study on his experience of running a plant area and how to attract the customers' eye, whilst Kevin Waters will provide merchandising tips on how to make your store stand out above the rest.

Registration is from 10.30 for an 11.00am start. Lunch will be provided. The event will run until 3pm after which there will be the opportunity to visit the Ball Colegrave Summer Showcase 2015, which features new plant varieties and retail ideas and runs from 13 to 31 July.

Delegates signed up so far include Bennybeg Garden Centre, Mr Fothergill's, Lovania, The Secret Garden and Farplants. Exhibitors at the event include Floramedia, Ecovision, Alpha Packaging and HTA Utilities.
