Graduates win industry prizes

Students’ project work has come under the professional spotlight and four have struck lucky with their landscape architecture schemes.

The graduates won prizes for excellence from top landscape architecture firm LDA Design, based in London. They were praised by LDA Design partner Andrew Harland for “rising to the challenges of a profession addressing key political issues”. “The environment, housing and regeneration are at the centre of policy and we need incentives to transform degrees into careers that make a difference to people.” Winners Kate Dundas and Sally Stephenson of Leeds Metropolitan University submitted work they had completed for their postgraduate diplomas. Simon Auton of Sheffield University and Graham Palmer of Heriot-Watt University were praised for their MA coursework. LDA Design invites university lecturers to submit projects for the annual competition with a top prize of £500.
