Glee exhibitor numbers lower as pets and Chinese exit

Exhibitor numbers at Glee are likely to be up to 100 lower than in 2011, with latest numbers quoted by organisers at 500 for 2012’s Birmingham NEC event on 17-19 September.

Glee has lost its PetIndex hall after competition from Pets and Aquatics Trade shows in Sandown (20-21 March) and Harrogate (16-17 September).

Growers and garden furniture exhibitor numbers have also been hit by new trade show Solex, which is moving to the NEC next July and the National Plant Show.

Glee organisers i2i (formerly Emap Connect) say exhibitor numbers are likely to be similar to 2011 after discounting up to 60 pet exhibitors and up to 50 Chinese exhibitors.

Glee gives 2011 exhibitor numbers at 650 on its website, with 11,149 visitors, down from 13,050 in 2010.
