Garden industry salutes winners of the Garden Retail Awards 2015

More than 300 leading garden industry professionals gathered at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London's Covent Garden last night to hear the winners of the Garden Retail Awards 2015 announced.

The awards, which were hosted by Horticulture Week and opened by its garden industry editor Matthew Appleby, saw leading garden centres from across the UK presented with awards in recognition of their achievements over the past 18 months.

Among the many big winners of the night were Woodcote Green Garden Centre & Nurseries which picked up the award for best outlet over £3m, Longacres which won best development for its Shepperton outlet - and Perrywood Nurseries which scooped three awards for its planteria, sales team and catering facilities respectively.

Sidmouth did the double picking up the community involvement and commitment to customer service awards.

Dougal Philip of Hopetoun Garden Centre earned a standing ovation after it was announced he was the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2015. The award was presented by the HTA's chief executive Carol Paris.
