Garden centre granted entertainment licence

Councillors have approved plans for a garden centre to sell alcohol and put on live entertainment beyond its current opening hours.

Duxburys Garden Centre, near Preston, Lancashire, applied to serve alcohol until 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 5pm on a Sunday.

It also asked South Ribble Council for a premises licence for "live and recorded entertainment" until 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday.

Amended said live music would only be played outside until 7pm from Monday to Thursday.

The authority’s Licensing Panel voted unanimously in favour of the proposals with conditions.
