Garden Centre Association's top garden centres announced

Barton Grange Garden Centre has won back its best garden centre title in this year's Garden Centre Association (GCA) awards.

The GCA presented its annual award at its conference earlier this week where Barton Grange took the award for best centre over £4m turnover and Planters Tamworth took best under £4m turnover.

The Worrall Cup for the best use of signage and point of sale material was awarded to Chessington Garden Centre and the Dick Allen Award for the most improved centre went to All-in-One Knutsford.

Creative Gardens Donaghadee received the Outdoor Living Award in the Garden Centre category and Bents Garden & Home in Glazebury in the Destination Garden Centre category.

The Garden Industry Manufacturers’ Association (GIMA) Award for Excellence in Garden Product Retailing was awarded to Burston Garden Centre in St Albans and the Ruxley Rose award was presented to Cowell’s Garden Centre in Woolsington in the Garden Centre category and to Squires Garden Centre, Twickenham in the Destination Garden Centre category.

GCA chairman Peter Burks said:: "The awards help to recognise excellence in the industry and are reflective of the garden centres’ hard work and commitment to excellence, so well done to all the winners and runners up."

The winners of the Christmas display competition were also acknowledged. All-in-One Middleton came first in the Garden Centre category and Barton Grange Garden Centre topped the Destination Garden Centre group.

The Barton Grange Trophy for the best display idea went to Ransoms Garden Centre in Jersey.

Barton Grange MD Guy Topping said: "I am absolutely thrilled that we were crowned Destination Garden Centre of the Year once again.
