Fron Goch Garden Centre in North Wales is planning to start work this summer on an extended and refitted restaurant.
The Caernarfon garden centre completed construction of a new building last year, working with Newspan Building Solutions. Part of this building is to be used for the new restaurant.
"It’s a facelift more than anything," said Melanie Sewell, who runs the restaurant. "It will make things run more easily and be more spacious."
The seating area is being re-done, there will be extra room in the kitchen and the entrance has been moved to be more central to the rest of the garden centre, she said. The centre is currently speaking to local contractors and is planning to start work fitting out the restaurant next month.
Also, Ashtead Garden Centre in Surrey is starting work on Monday on a cafe extension - extending the building into the area occupied by the current outdoor seating area. It will double in size and have a new outdoor seating area, new toilet block and a new kitchen with a pizza oven. It is expected to take four months to complete the work.
