The renovation which is taking place over two years includes the replacement of all the headstones and supporting beams, said Keith Lakey, horticultural manager at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

The first phase of headstone replacement is now complete; phase two will take place this autumn.

The Commission has ordered Rolawn’s Medallion turf for the job.

"We selected Medallion turf as we know the quality and service from Rolawn supports the Commissions’ stringent standards," said Lakey.

The final phase will be circa 3000m2 which will take place next spring.

The Commission’s gardeners are reinstating the horticulture after the headstones have been replaced.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission cares for cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations, in 150 countries.

The Mount Huon MC site is maintained by the Dieppe mobile group, one of 36 such groups in France. Mont Huon MC is one of nearly 900 constructed sites in France Area. There are 320 full time gardeners in France Area.
