Forestry Commission to host woodfuel event for growers

The Forestry Commission is holding a special event for growers from across Yorkshire & Humber who are interested in woodfuel heat, on 1 March.

The Woodfuel Heat Event, organised by Forestry Commission England in conjunction with White Rose Forest, Heizomat heating boilers and EBTech Solutions, will showcase the benefits of using wood as a fuel, the government support available, boiler demonstrations and case studies of nurseries that have made the transition.

Case studies of nurseries using woodfuel instead of oil and gas, including Garforth Growers, Markham Grange and Ravensbrook Nurseries.

Representatives from glasshouse biomass installation specialists EBTech and boiler company Heizomat will explain the transition process and the benefits of changing to woodfuel.

The event will take place from 9.30am to 12.30pm at the Stocksbridge Technology Centre in Cawood, in conjunction with Yorwoods.

To register attendance contact Forestry Commission woodfuel officer Rudie Humphrey on rudie.humphrey@foresty.gsi.gov.uk or call 01904 382317.
