Footpath opened in memory of Bradford parks manager

A footpath has been opened to pay tribute to the life of Bradford parks manager Barrie Tinker.

Tinker's Trail now runs through south Bradford's 40ha Judy Woods.

Tinker was the parks and landscape manager for Bradford Council until his death in 2008 and his family — wife, Janet, and children Hannah and John — were invited to the opening of the footpath.

The path is a result of work between the council's leisure services department and community group Friends of Judy Wood.

They created the walk through the woods with disabled access and picnic areas. It was funded through the Community Spaces grant scheme managed by Groundwork UK — a partner of the Big Lottery Fund.
