Florafest returns to Newey Midland HQ after rollercoaster season

The Florafest showcase event for Newey Group will take place this year 19-23 June at The Newey Midlands headquarters just outside Stratford upon Avon.

The timing for Florafest coincides with the HTA National Plant Show takes place at Stoneleigh on the 20-21 June and delegates are encouraged to visit both events. Several hundred attend annually.
Florafest is primarily a trials event to showcase the current and future ranges, products and services from Newey Young Plants, Newey Perennial Plugs and Liners and Newey Garden Ready.
Ornamental bedding plug supplier Newey Young Plants will be displaying bedding plant ranges from its partner suppliers including Dummen Orange, Fides, Channel Island Plants and Hendriks Young
Plants.
Newey says: "Growers, nurseries and buyers can get a real feel for what is coming online for the 2018 season as well as being able to discuss in person their individual needs."
Newey Perennial Plugs and Liners will showcase its ranges of perennials available to customers as plugs and liners, including new varieties. The new catalogue will also be available.
Newey Garden Ready is the division that supplies retail ready plants for garden centres, major retailers, and other outlets. The products on show will include trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, grasses,
perennials and other products finished ready for sale.
The company also has businesses in contract growing, propagation, and finishing all of which will be represented at the show. Newey Transflora horticultural distribution is also part of the business.

Newey's Alex Newey says the 2017 season so far has been "ok – there’s always high points and low points in any one season. It’s how you deal with the low points." He says it will be "about the same as last year-sales of nursery stock have been good, sales of bedding not as strong
