Visitor numbers had reached 310 midway through the festival, up from 195 last year.
Newey Group bought Eagle Plants last week, to add a perennial young plant supplier to its Young Plants, Roundstone, New Place, New Forest and other businesses. A further grower, not in bedding, will be added to the group at the end of July.
Kersten Catella is Young Plants general manager. Jason Eagles remains in charge of Eagle Plants, Mike Norris runs New Forest Plants and New Place Nurseries and Alex Newey runs Roundstone, where former director Chris Need has left to join Fordingbridge to run a sustainable building project. An internal reshuffle has filled his role. New Forest Plants' Matthew Dixon is leaving to go to The Plant Yard. Charles Carr from Lowaters, where Ian Ashton is covering Carr's role, is his replacement. Newey and Martin Thomas are Newey Group director-owners. Newey said he is receiving approaches from people at the National Plant Show to work for the group and is "actively asking for the best people to approach us".
