Farming minister backs Open Farm Sunday on soft fruit farm visit

Agriculture Minister George Eustice visited Hall Hunter Partnership's Tuesley Farm in Godalming, Surrey last Sunday (8 June) to give his backing to Open Farm Sunday.

He described the now annual event as "a great opportunity for people to learn more about where there food comes from, and to demonstrate to young people why a career in agriculture can be so rewarding".

The sustainable farming charity LEAF (Linking Environment & Farming), which organises the nationwide event, has put the number of visitors on the day at 205,000, slightly up on last year.
