Exbury Gardens launches family attraction

Exbury Gardens in Hampshire has launched a ‘family trail’ to attract visitors at the end of summer.

The trail highlights 20 different points of interest in the 80ha park. it costs £1.50 and includes directions, a pencil and a packet of salad seeds.

It was launched to meet the demand for family oriented attractions towards the end of the summer period.

Features include a cedar tree felled in the great storm of 1990 with tree rings highlighting important dates and events, the ‘Scented Corner’ showcasing aromatic plants and unusual trees.

Exbury commercial and marketing manager Nigel Philpott said: "There has been demand for a family trail at Exbury on a year round basis. With children welcomed free of charge to the Gardens in 2012, and with the optional extras of our popular steam train and Family Trail now in place, we look forward to welcoming an increasing number of families to the Gardens."
