The supplier will sell Trilo’s vacuum sweepers/collectors, scarifiers, blowers, turf harvesters and mowers in Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Kent, Surrey and Sussex with immediate effect, following training at Trilo headquarters in Holland.
Ernest Doe previously sold the products through a distributor but general manager, horticulture, Andy Turbin said that customers "will see a significant benefit as we will be able to offer some extremely competitive prices now that we are dealing directly with Trilo".
The product range is designed for professionals in public area maintenance, such as contractors or in-house grounds care teams working for local authorities, golf courses and other sports facilities.
"They’re very popular, there’s a huge amount of those machines out there that have been sold for years and years. That’s one of the machines that lasts forever but there’s enough out there that someone will always need to replace theirs.
"The Trilo product has involved and become more useful. The range is getting bigger, it’s a bit more diversified as well, it’s moving into other markets. You’ve got leaf collectors, scarifying attachments and grass cutting attachments."
The Trilo SU40 and SU60 vacuum units are particularly popular, he said, and can be used to suck up leaves or rubbish from amenity areas.
"They’ve got one on Hampstead Heath. They use it to collect rubbish and empty the bins," he added.
"This agreement will be fairly significant to our turnover and there’s a parts business we can grow as well. It’s a top quality franchise, that’s what we’re all about."
Both Ernest Doe and Trilo are family-founded businesses which take pride in their heritage. Ernest Doe has 19 branches in the South and East of England. Managing director Colin Doe is the fourth generation of the family to run the business in its 118 years of trading with his son, Angus Doe, who is presently service director.
