Ground control boasts: "Our people are Ground Control." The company has achieved extraordinary growth in recent years, a testimony to its award-winning culture and values. Ground Control has created an environment in which people can learn and grow, driving a focused energy that has bought a multitude of rewards in which its people ultimately share.

Growth has brought with it long-term employment and career progression opportunities. It has also brought innovation and technological changes to the point where staff are no longer just cutting grass. The range of jobs includes procurement and design specialists, business analysts and IT programmers, tree surgeons and training co-ordinators.

Ground Control’s diversity brings together cultures and communities as well as people who want to work to common goals. The company serves clients with passion, meets their changing needs and delivers excellence at every opportunity.

The judges said: "Ground Control has successfully combined business growth with steady improvements in staff training and development supported by a range of company policies and procedures. A great deal of additional evidence of support or initiatives to assist employees and clients was evidenced in the submission. The company’s commitment to training staff at all levels is of particular note, especially on the managerial level to ensure that they are able to meet the demands of the rapid expansion in staff numbers and workloads. Good evidence of outreach work to support our industry and local charity groups impressed the judging panel. Active participation in the new ‘Trailblazer Apprentice’ scheme for 2017 was commended by the judges."
