Edinburgh firm scoops award

European Landscape Award winner announced.

Edinburgh-based Gross.Max has won the 2006 European Landscape Award. The firm was given the accolade by international landscape architecture and urban design journal Topos at an awards ceremony in Munich in January. Topos selected Gross.Max for its “unmistakable style” and “aesthetic experimentation.” A Topos representative said: “It plays a major part in shaping the style of landscape architecture in the early 21st century.” Founded in 1995, Gross.Max’s portfolio includes an award-winning scheme for two parks at Potsdammer Platz, Berlin, and award-winning designs for London’s Hackney Town Hall Square, St John’s Square in Islington and Brixton Central Square.
