Eastern Region Parks & Open Spaces Forum hosts conference on engaging communities

Landscape architects, planners and regeneration managers are being targeted in a green space conference led by the Eastern Region Parks & Open Spaces Forum.

The Engaging Communities conference - which will be held at Hylands House, Chelmsford, Essex, next Tuesday (28 April) - is set to examine the pressures facing the green space sector.

Conference facilitator Bob Ivison said: "The subject is very topical. To ensure that the best information is available, we have brought together an excellent range of speakers from the Government's strategic perspective through to on-the-ground best practice."

CABE Space head of public space management and best practice Nicole Collomb will speak at the event, along with Royal Parks community engagement manger Toni Assirati.

Chelmsford Borough Council chief executive Steve Packham will discuss the local authority perspective, while environmental charity Green Light Trust team leader Grenville Clarke will cover designing community space projects.

Practical tips will be shared during a question-and-answer session.
