A batch of 30,000 pot roses has flowered by the end of April. The ‘Arthur Bell' variety 'Bouquet in a Tuscany pot’ roses are niw ready for early delivery.
Each year Whartons pot in late November, place in ventilated polytunnels in February to grow on for usually flowering the third week of May.
Managing director Robert Wharton said: "Whilst the weather has been cool and wet outside, under glass and poly the sun has been fairly strong, which has brought on the crop as early as we can remember."
Deliveries will start next week and batches are planned for each week until late June.
