The plant has been developed, trialled and laboratory tested for quality, reliability and performance at Earley’s 5ha site near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, Viola Vibrante F1 produces showy medium to large flowers and is available in a mixture of 20 colours, including bicolours.
The product is suitable for pack or pot production and has a naturally compact habit with low PGR requirement, and should be selected for its uniform flowering in both autumn and spring.
Earley managing director Simon Earley said: "This is an exciting new development for our customers. We’re always looking to introduce new varieties and in this instance we wanted to offer a really high-quality option and Viola Vibrante F1 is just that. We want our customers to try this latest launch along with the other new additions to the already extensive Earley Viola range."
Other new additions are Viola Perfetto F1 and Viola Grandissimo F1. Also available is Viola Penny F1, Bel Viso F1, Venus F1 and Viola Rebellina F1.
Earley is unable to release the exact breeder information for their Viola Vibrante as it is confidential. It is a composed series made up of the latest genetics, selected to be compact, uniform in habit and flowering.
