Eagle Plants joins list of operators to have been acquired by Newey Group

Newey Group managing director Alex Newey has confirmed the company's acquisition of Eagle Plants, while Eagle has terminated its contract with Elsner PAC product to concentrate on selling more Dummen genetics.

Eagle Plants was the exclusive distributor for Elsner PAC, unrooted and rooted, in the UK. Newey said: "We like the product and we like the people, and it is highly complementary to what we do."

He added: "We're very much focused in our group on our relationship with Dummen Orange and their varieties and Red Fox brand. This will help us sell more Red Fox material."

Eagle Plants exhibited at Newey Group company Young Plants' Florafest show at Whitehill Farm in Alderminster, Warwickshire, on 22-26 June.

Newey said he is "delighted" and "the acquisition has bridged the gap in Newey Group's young-plant offer to wholesale growers".

He confirmed that Jason and Sally Eagles will remain fully operational, with Jason Eagles as general manager of Eagle Plants.

As well as Eagle, Newey Group also includes New Forest Plants, New Place Nurseries, Roundstone, Whitehill Seed Co, Transflora and Omni Solutions.
