The £5.99 hats were advertised as being fake fur but have real rabbit fur trimmings on them. They are made in China.
A concerned customer told animal rights activists PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - which obtained one of the hats and ran DNA tests on it proving it contained animal fur.
Dobbies withdrew the hat from sale and said the issue was down to a mistake at its Chinese manufacturer, which used real and fake fur in different products. It has stopped using the manufacturer.
Dobbies said: "We do not condone fur products and this product is no longer on sale. We have ceased working with the manufacturer of these products while this issue is under investigation."
