Diarmuid Gavin to headline garden retail show Glee

Garden designers Gavin and Ann Marie Powell will speak at the garden centre buyers' show at Birmingham NEC (12-14 September).

The show has almost 450 exhibitors booked. Newly named sections are Outdoor Entertaining, Landscaping and Garden Decoration and Retail Experiences and Services.

Diarmuid Gavin will address Glee 2016 on 12 September and Ann Marie Powell on 14 September.

New and lapsed companies exhibiting in this area at Glee 2016 include Addis, Bayer Garden, Empire Tools, Veolia, Leveload, Niwaki, Knauf Insulation, Harrod Horticulture, Blumen International, Ecogogrow, envii, Bonnington Plastics, Hug Rug, Erin Horticulture, Kings Seeds, Johnston & Jeff and Growth Technology.

Growers exhibiting are Chessum Plants, Quality Ornamentals, Javado, Anglia Group of Nurseries, Addenda, New Leaf Plants, Chamberlain Nurseries, Chapel Cottage Plants, Channel Island Plants, Kilworth Conifers, Gardeners Kitchen, Topbuxus B.V., and Wyevale Nurseries. New exhibitors for 2016 include Armlee Nurseries and Butters Group.

Among exhibitors, Abacus Cards has new BBC Springwatch and Countryfile licensed greeting cards ranges.

East Midlands-based manufacturer and importer, Charles Bentley & Son, is expanding its operation with the launch of a dropship service, with1,500 products available covering garden and outdoor, home living, sport and leisure, DIY tools and hardware, toys and games and pets.

Scotts Miracle-Gro has several new products across its ferts and chems and other ranges to launch.

Burgon & Ball will be launching a selection of RHS-endorsed hand tools. The range has been developed in response to customer feedback that the Burgon & Ball team has heard at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show over the last few seasons.

Crown Pavilions will showcase a cedar outdoor cinema room complete with fingerprint entry, inbuilt surround sound and a solid oak bar. Orders for its gazebos and garden rooms are up 23 per cent on this time last year.

WJ Group now has its 2015 anti-slip decking product, DeckWright Inserts in B&Q following launch at Glee.

Fallen Fruits has a new range of Garden Carpets and new outdoor pouffes.

New for 2016 from Crest Garden's Flopro brand is the Cube, a hose reel complete with fittings which can be fitted to a wall or free standing. 

Hazelmill has a new "Flower Children" Range of cast iron products.

The Light n Go Bonfire log is a kiln-dried hard wood birch log from Highgrove Foods.

Premium BBQ Briquettes & Premium Starter by Die Kohle-Manufaktur will now be available in the UK at Glee.

La Hacienda has New Mexican Style Clay Chimeneas, firepits and a firebox.

Meadow View have re-designed their entire POS collection around a lifestyle concept. 

Melamaster Melamine will be using the Glee Exhibition 2016 to launch two new products, with a picnic range new at the show. 

NAP brands will launch STANLEY FATMAX garden hand tools and watering, and STANLEY petrol garden tools.

In association with Firstpress (Plastic Moulders), Pot Pal is launching its first product at this year’s Glee show - a plant pot partner that enables both terracotta and plastic plant pots in various sizes to be displayed securely and safely.  

Scheurich expands its successful outdoor product range with C-Cube, a planter with a concrete appearance that comes in a cubic shape and is also available in two sizes.

Stewart Garden, the gardening division of UK manufacturer, Stewart, is expanding their Lead Effect planter range with the round and deep trough planters at Glee 2015.

This year’s Glee will showcase three Town & Country gardening gloves that have all been designed by children between the age of 4-12 that entered a competition to have their glove made. 

Treadstone will relaunch its Peter Rabbit branded range under new head of brands, Dean Winters, formerly of Solus.

Unipet will launch Suet To Go Nuggets and the Hentastic Fun Feeder toy for chickens.

Woodstock Chimes has created Woodstock Chimes for Autism, to elevate autism awareness and support those living with autism. The chimes feature the globally recognized, multi-coloured puzzle-piece symbol associated with autism on its wind catcher and is tuned to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21. Research supports that Mozart’s music is a blessing for many with autism who are hypersensitive to sound.
