Design resource is back in print

Sought-after book will be back on shelves

A long out-of-print and sought-after handbook is set to hit the shelves again this month. The book, called Parks & Gardens, is a researchers’ guide to sources for designed landscapes. It is going back into print thanks to the support of English Heritage. English Heritage senior landscape adviser Jenifer White said: “This updated edition will be an invaluable guide for students, landscape architects and public parks managers, who will be able to use its comprehensive advice to research landscape conservation and restoration projects with confidence.” L Vicarage Garden of Torrington, Devon, is launching a selection of hardy exotics at RHS Rosemoor on 8 June called Le Jardin Exotique, the Connoisseurs’ Collection. The plants range from £5 to £25 and are aimed at designers. L Wendy Hoddinott from Christchurch, New Zealand, has won first place in the International Federation of Landscape Architects’ eastern region student awards. Her design combined art, recreation and conservation along the new rail trail in Canterbury, Kent.
