HTA horticulture head Raoul Curtis-Machin commented: "It is becoming clear to us that no-one in Government is 100% sure on what they [sector deals] look like yet or how they are going to materialise."
He added that other issues discussed were increasing the skills pipeline, helping careers promotion and a replacement system for migrant workers. He said Defra "have listened".
An access to labour Government team meeting has also been held. They "wanted to know ornamentals' needs and we explained growing nervousness about labour supply".
