John Deere's worldwide Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division has sold its factory at Enschede, in the Netherlands, to Ecology Group Enschede BV, an affiliate of Citadel Industries.
Under the terms of the transaction, John Deere is selling a portion of the ongoing activities and assets of John Deere Fabriek Enschede, along with provision for the continuation of traditional production and assembly of small-chassis compact utility tractors, selected rotary mower decks and jumbo reels.
Customers in the UK and Ireland can continue to buy the 500 and 900 triple and 1905 five-gang cylinder mowers. The 997 zero-turn will be produced in the US. Spare parts and servicing will continue through the dealer network.
