Pearson will design the Laurent Perrier garden at the 19-23 May 2015 event.

In 2014, Luciano Giubbilei won best in show for his Laurent Perrier garden.

Pearson has designed five show gardens at Chelsea, with the last being in 2004 for Merrill Lynch, when he won a silver gilt. He also designed Chelsea gardens in 1992, 1993, 1994 and a roof garden in 1996.

He is a pioneer of perennial planting and has been a designer since 1987. At Chelsea 2014, Pearson spoke at the RHS President's Lunch in support of the RHS apprenticeship scheme.

Crocus has built and supplied plants for the Laurent Perrier garden at Chelsea for 17 years.

Other Chelsea gardens believed to be planned for 2015 are the Rich brothers (Bord na Mona), Adam Frost (Homebase), Darren Hawkes (Brewin Dolphin, supplied by Kelways), Jo Thompson (M&G) Chris Beardshaw, Royal Bank of Canada, and the Daily Telegraph which is to be designed by Marcus Barnett and also built by Crocus. In 2011, Barnett designed a Chelsea garden for The Times and Kew Gardens, winning a silver medal. In 2005 Barnett and his colleague Philip Nixon won a gold medal. Barnett won gold in 2006 and silver gilt in 2007.

The full list of 14 show gardens will be released in November.
