Crowders Garden Centre close to finalising sale

Wyevale Garden Centres is expected to announce further acqusitions this month, with Lincolnshire-based Crowders Garden Centre thought to be one of them.

The sale of the Horncastle-based garden centre is expected be finalised by the end of this month and a deal is thought to have been signed.

Crowders Nurseries would continue under family ownership having been launched by Robert Crowder’s great, great, great grandfather William Crowther who opened a nursery in 1798.

The current garden centre opened in 1983.

A plan to build another garden centre nearby is now thought unlikely to happen, though a housing development could still go ahead.

Wyevale Garden Centres and Crowders owner Robert Crowder declined to comment.
