The Royal Parks' Park Stories have been written by eight prize-winning authors, including Ali Smith, Will Self and Hanan al-Shaykh.
Taking inspiration from each of the Royal Parks, each writer has produced a short story for reading in the open air.
The stories are available to buy from the Royal Parks website and selected book shops across London. Publication will be accompanied by summer readings in the parks by the authors.
The stories are:
The Running of the Deer by Shena Mackay (Richmond Park)
The Definite Article by Ali Smith (Regent's Park)
A Beauty Parlour for Swans by Hanan al-Shaykh (Kensington Gardens)
The Dreams of Bethany Mellmoth by William Boyd (Green Park)
Direct Hit by Adam Thorpe (Hyde Park)
A Report to the Minister by Will Self (Bushy Park)
By Force of Will, Alone by Nicola Barker (Greenwich Park)
Along Birdcage Walk by Clare Wigfall (St James's Park)
