Judges at the government-funded event chose 'Mira White' after it came out on top in both shelf life and during culture tests.

The shelf life test consisted of 1 week transportation to store simulation and a 5 week consumer test.

Grower prizes were also awarded in 3 categories.

Syngenta grower Strijbis — Verbeek won the 10.5cm pot category with 'Mira White'.

AJW van Kempen won the 13cm pot with 'Allegra' (Lazzeri) and Ripaplant won in the large pots category with 'Christmas Feelings' (Selecta).
