LDA Design's proposals were chosen for south London's Burgess Park following a major consultation into the future of the park.
The include improvements to the lake, landforms and better entrances designed to give the park a clearer identity.
Burgess Park was awarded £2m by the Mayor of London after winning his Premier Park Regeneration Award in March.
The Mayor's grant was matched with a further £4m of funding, which was secured through partnership between Southwark Council and the Aylesbury New Deal for Communities.
The £6m project is in addition to over £1.2m currently being invested in the Chumleigh Gardens open space, play area and cafe in the heart of the park that is due to open in early 2010.
