Plantscape has shifted more than 200 of its raised and multi-tiered planters and 36 barrier baskets to south-east Austria.

Managing director Mark Stone said the products would be planted up and rented out to towns and villages in Austria and Germany.

"This latest order is excellent news because it increases our presence overseas. We are looking forward finding new opportunities on the continent."

The firm, based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, has exported its 230 product ranges to the Republic of Ireland and the US, and has sent products to Austria for three years.

The Austrian contacts were so impressed with the first order, they asked for more, said Stone, who works through a local third-party company.

Plantscape supplies more than 300 local authorities and barrier baskets to Heathrow and Gatwick. In 2007 its planters lined the Tour De France route over Tower Bridge.

Plantscape, whose sister company is Urbanscape, has a 1,500sq m warehouse packed with 20,000 planters and more than £300,000 worth of stock.
