Trehane Nursery near Wimborne, Dorset, was established nearly 60 years ago and is the UK's original blueberry plantation, said the firm.

It was the result of a gift of 80 plants from Canada to help economic recovery after World War Two.

The Trehane family has over 12ha of the fruit, known as Dorset Blues, sold to hotels, restaurants and shops through national wholesalers.

Trehane Nursery opens on 22 July for a season that usually lasts for five weeks.
