Around a quarter of the responses received so far have come from current Arboricultural Association Approved Contractors (AAACs), with another quarter coming from aspiring AAACs.

Arboricultural Association Trading director Andy Poynter urged members to get involved in the Approved Contractor Consultation.

He said: "To date, there have been approaching 200 responses with approximately a quarter from existing AAACs, a quarter from arboricultural contractors aspiring to become AAACs and the remainder from tree officers, arboricultural consultants and other interested parties."

He added: "Please help shape the future of arboricultural contracting by making your comments known."
