The ISA chapter's event at Moulton College involved six colleges, Moulton, Easton, Myerscough, Capel Manor, Merrist Wood and Warwickshire.
Disciplines included speed climb, throwline, footlock, aerial rescue and work climb, with the top three scorers going on to a masters final.
Moulton College team members Neil Taylor and Ned Cromack made the final, with Taylor winning best novice and Neal Withers the Spirit of the Competition award.
Ross Patrick, a first year who has been climbing since only the beginning of the summer term, came third in the speed climb.
Neil Taylor was second in the work climb while Neal Withers pipped Taylor by one point in aerial rescue. Ned Cromack and Joe Hottinger also put in strong performances.
Taylor beat his two rivals from Warwickshire College in the masters' final to take the winner's trophy from last year's champ Simeon Balsam, also from Moulton.
The event was organised by Jessica West, student activities chair for the chapter and curriculum team leader for arboriculture at Moulton College.
