Bord na Móna UK expands

Following Bord na Móna UK's launch of its new single brand peat to peat-free Bord na Móna Growise range unveiled at Glee 2015, the company is doubling its UK capacity.

Head of consumer UK Charles Farmer said:

"In the growing media and soil improver category, security of supply is key.  The great opportunity for the UK garden retailer is that BNM UK can support its best in class peat to peat-free proposition with the full backing of the massive resources, technological innovation and marketing support of the premier global supplier in this category, combined with the tight knit and fleet of foot accessibility of the UK sales team.

"Our mission is to ensure the consumer can buy the very best performing product whatever the task in hand and whatever their preference in terms of peat and peat-free.  Doubling our UK capacity reflects the popularity of the new offer and is a reflection of this company’s ability to back retailers in this way."

The new Bord na Móna Growise single brand strategy includes new literature, the new website and a new trade and consumer promotional campaign.

Bord na Mona were in the running to buy Sinclair before Westland did this September.

The Irish peat board has decided it will now longer harvest peat for energy its own peat from 2030. Bord na Mona is believed to be supplying own label product to Garden Centre Group in 2016.
