Bexley loses tree court case

The London Borough of Bexley is considering an appeal after the High Court ordered it to pay more than £150,000 in damages over a mature hybrid black poplar in Danson Park, Welling, found to have wrenched cracks into a home 30m away.

Arboricultural Association technical officer Simon Richmond said: "There is no obvious answer to what councils should do but they need to be aware of the type of soil within their boundaries."
